Visual impairment and sight loss training

Course Description

This hour and a half interactive and practical training is for volunteers, booking clerks, receptionists, nursing staff and medics of all levels. Anyone who has the potential to care for patients with sight loss would benefit from this training. This is a blended learning approach, whereby you will complete a short course online pre-course, followed by a 90 minute practical session on your chosen date. 

Learning Objectives

By the end of the training you will: 

  • Have had an introduction to eye clinic liason officer role. 
  • Have an awareness of sight loss and eye conditions
  • Have received practical training and experience of sight loss
  • Know how to make reasonable adjustments and provide additional support
  • Be able to guide a patient with sight loss correctly.
